KLM World Business Class
from$2,300round trip · per person
KLM is the oldest airline in the world still flying under its original name, and Amsterdam Schiphol — one terminal, a train station underneath, minimum connection times under an hour — is the easiest hub in Europe. World Business Class is lie-flat 1-2-1 on every long-haul aircraft, the new 777 cabin adds sliding doors, and with Delta as its joint-venture partner KLM reaches fifteen US cities.

The seat
What makes World Business Class different
World Business Class on the 787 is a lie-flat 1-2-1 with direct aisle access, a Dutch-design cabin and the famous Delft Blue miniature houses filled with genever that the crew hand out at the end of the flight — a collection of more than a hundred, one added each year. The new 777 cabin brings a sliding door and a larger screen to the same layout. KLM is not the flashiest business class to Europe, but it is one of the most consistent: reliable seats, good Dutch and international catering, and a hub where a connection to Copenhagen, Berlin or Edinburgh takes less time than the train from Heathrow to central London.

KLM lounges
At Schiphol, the KLM Crown Lounge 52 for non-Schengen flights (all US departures) was rebuilt in 2019 across two floors with a Blue restaurant, a rooftop terrace, showers and rest areas; it is one of the best European hub lounges. In the US, KLM uses Delta Sky Clubs and Delta One Lounges at its gateways.
Upgrades: can you move up?
KLM offers upgrade bids before departure and Flying Blue mileage upgrades on eligible fares; with no First Class, World Business Class is the top, and our contract fares put you there. If the new 777 cabin with doors matters, ask which aircraft flies your route.
Important to know before you book
- The 787s and un-retrofitted 777s have the lie-flat seat without a door; retrofitted 777s have doors. We confirm which.
- KLM's US network is shared with Delta; the flight you book may be Delta-operated, and vice versa.
- Schiphol is superb for connections but busy; allow time at security in summer.
- Tulip season (April) and King's Day (April 27) are Amsterdam's peak.
Rankings and reviews
KLM holds a Skytrax 4-Star rating and has won Best Airline Staff in Europe and Best Business Class Lounge in Europe awards in recent years; the Crown Lounge 52 is regularly ranked among the top European hub lounges.
Why book KLM with LuxeSkies
KLM's one-stop fares to secondary European cities and to Africa are among the most competitive on the map, and its US flights are sold jointly with Delta at different prices depending on which airline's code you buy. We hold contract fares from $2,300 round trip, price KLM against Delta on the same route, and use Schiphol's connection times to build itineraries the nonstops cannot match.
KLM questions
How much is KLM business class from the US?
Our negotiated starting fares are $2,300 round trip from New York for lead-time bookings; Atlanta, Detroit and Chicago are close, and the West Coast around $2,800. One-stop fares to Europe, Africa and Asia are quoted on request.
Does KLM have First Class?
No. World Business Class is the top cabin — lie-flat 1-2-1, with doors on the newest 777s.
Is Amsterdam a good place to connect?
The best in Europe. Schiphol is one terminal, KLM's minimum connection time is under an hour, and the train station under the terminal serves Brussels, Paris and Cologne directly.
What is the KLM Delft Blue house?
A miniature Dutch canal house filled with genever, given to every business-class passenger. KLM has issued more than a hundred designs, one new house each year, and collectors trade them.

“Steven was enthusiastic (to a fault). His first of three offers was about 10% above my budget but the flights really fit the schedule so well I had to say yes. The other two offers were cheaper but the timing was off for me.”
