Business & First Class Flights to Singapore

Singapore Airlines flies nonstop from New York JFK, Newark, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle, with the A350-900ULR on the ultra-long routes — a 1-2-1 lie-flat business cabin and no economy — and the A350-900 or 777 on the others. The New York service also runs via Frankfurt on an A380, which is the only way to fly Singapore Suites, the airline's First Class, from the US. United flies Polaris nonstop from San Francisco. One-stop routings are strong: via Tokyo on ANA or Japan Airlines with First Class on the Pacific leg, via Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific, via Doha on Qatar Airways in Qsuite, or via Dubai on Emirates in First — often at lower fares than the nonstops, and worth it if eighteen hours in one seat is not appealing.

The nonstop is an unusual experience. The crew serve two full meals with a long dark rest period between; Book the Cook lets you pre-order your main course; and most clients sleep in two blocks. Westbound from New York you depart in the morning or evening and arrive the following evening or early morning; the eastbound return leaves Singapore around midnight and lands in New York in the morning of the same calendar day. Changi's Terminal 3 SilverKris lounge, rebuilt in 2022, is one of the best in Asia, and the Private Room serves Suites passengers on the Frankfurt routing.

Singapore is a year-round destination — hot and humid every month, with February through April marginally drier. The F1 night race in September or October and Lunar New Year are the expensive weeks. The city is more often a stopover than an end point: Bali is two and a half hours, Bangkok two and a half, Malé four and a half, Ho Chi Minh City two, and Singapore Airlines' stopover packages and Changi's free two-hour city tour for connecting passengers make a night or two easy to add.
