Turkish Airlines Business Class
from$2,400round trip · per person
Turkish Airlines flies to more countries than any airline in the world and to more US cities than any other non-American carrier. Its business class is built around food — a chef in a white hat cooks in the galley on long-haul flights — and its lounge at Istanbul Airport is the one frequent flyers describe as the best on earth. Add a complimentary Istanbul stopover, and a one-stop to the Middle East, Africa, India or Central Asia is often the smartest ticket on the map.

The seat
What makes Business Class different
The seat is good — on the 787-9 and A350, a lie-flat 1-2-1 with a privacy wing and an 18-inch screen — but the meal is the event. Turkish's catering partner, Do & Co, loads a multi-course menu of Turkish and international dishes, and on long-haul flights a Flying Chef finishes and plates it in the galley; the candlelit table setting and the mezze cart are unlike anything else in business class. The trade-off is the 777-300ER, which still flies many US routes with a 2-3-2 layout, meaning the two center-middle seats have no direct aisle access. We check the aircraft on every fare.

Turkish Airlines lounges
The Turkish Airlines Lounge Business at Istanbul Airport covers two levels with live cooking stations — pide baked to order, a grill, a manti counter — plus sleeping suites, showers, a cinema, a golf simulator and a children's area. It is open to all business-class passengers. In the US, Turkish operates its own lounge at Washington Dulles and uses Star Alliance partner lounges (United Polaris, United Club or Lufthansa) at other gateways.
Upgrades: can you move up?
Turkish sells upgrade bids on many flights, cash upgrades at check-in when business is open, and Miles&Smiles members can upgrade eligible economy fares with miles. With no First Class, the only move up on Turkish is into business — which is where our contract fares put you from the start.
Important to know before you book
- The 777-300ER's 2-3-2 layout is the single most important thing to check; window seats and the center-aisle seats are fine, the center-middle pair is not. We tell you the aircraft and the seat map.
- Istanbul Airport is large; allow time for connections and for the lounge.
- Turkish flights from the US often depart in the evening and arrive in Istanbul mid-afternoon the next day; westbound returns are daytime flights.
- Ramadan dates shift each year; fares often dip during the month and rise for Eid.
Rankings and reviews
Turkish Airlines has been named Best Airline in Europe by Skytrax multiple times, holds Skytrax's award for World's Best Business Class Onboard Catering, and its Istanbul lounge has won Best Business Class Lounge Dining. It carries more passengers to more destinations than any European carrier.
Why book Turkish Airlines with LuxeSkies
Turkish prices the same Istanbul connection very differently depending on the final destination — a business fare to Nairobi via Istanbul can cost less than the fare to Istanbul alone. We hold contract fares from $2,400 round trip, confirm the aircraft so you avoid the 2-3-2 center seats, set up the Istanbul stopover when it fits, and compare Turkish against the Gulf carriers on every Middle East, Africa and India itinerary.
Turkish Airlines questions
How much is Turkish Airlines business class from the US?
Our negotiated starting fares are $2,400 round trip from New York for lead-time bookings; Boston, Washington and Chicago are close, Miami and Dallas slightly higher, and the West Coast around $3,000. Through-fares to Africa, the Middle East and Asia are quoted on request.
Does Turkish Airlines have First Class?
No. Business is the top cabin, and on the 787-9 and A350 it is a lie-flat 1-2-1 with direct aisle access.
Is the Turkish Airlines lounge in Istanbul really the best?
It is consistently ranked among the top two or three business lounges in the world, and it is open to every business-class passenger without status. Live cooking stations, sleeping suites, showers and a cinema — plan to arrive early.
Can I get a free stopover in Istanbul?
Yes. Turkish's stopover program provides complimentary hotel nights for business-class passengers on qualifying itineraries with a long connection. Ask us to build it into the ticket.

“Steven was enthusiastic (to a fault). His first of three offers was about 10% above my budget but the flights really fit the schedule so well I had to say yes. The other two offers were cheaper but the timing was off for me.”
