Business Class Flights to Doha

Doha is the home of Qsuite — the business-class seat with a door that Skytrax has named the world's best more often than any other — and Hamad International is the best-connected hub between the US and the Indian Ocean, East Africa and Southeast Asia. Qatar Airways flies it nonstop from twelve US cities, and a two-night stopover in Doha costs almost nothing on the fare.

Flying Business Class to Doha
Qatar Airways is the only nonstop carrier, from New York JFK, Washington, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle, and most of those flights are operated by the 777-300ER or A350 with Qsuite: a 1-2-1 layout where every seat has a sliding door, the center pairs become a double bed and four center seats become a private quad. The 787-8s and A330s that fill in on some frequencies carry an older, doorless seat, so we confirm the aircraft before quoting. Qatar Airways has no First Class on any US route — its A380 with First does not cross the Atlantic — which makes Qsuite the top cabin, and it is closer to most airlines' First than to their business. American codeshares on the route as Qatar's oneworld partner; one-stops via London on British Airways or via the other Gulf hubs are the alternatives.
Hamad International is the point. The Al Mourjan Business Lounge and the newer Al Mourjan Garden Lounge — Skytrax's World's Best Business Class Lounge in 2025 — are open to every Qsuite passenger, with restaurants, quiet rooms and showers, and the terminal itself, with its indoor garden and the Orchard, is among the most pleasant in the world to wait in. Qatar's Discover Qatar stopover program sells hotel packages from one to four nights, which is how most of our Maldives, Seychelles, Zanzibar and Bali clients fly: New York to Doha in Qsuite, a night or two, then four hours on to Malé in the same seat.
Doha itself is a two- or three-day city: the Museum of Islamic Art, the National Museum by Jean Nouvel, Souq Waqif, the Pearl, and a desert trip to the Khor Al Adaid inland sea. The season is November through March, with clear skies and highs in the 70s; December — Qatar National Day and the Christmas week — is the expensive window. Summer is very hot and brings the lowest premium fares of the year.

Doha flight questions
How much is Qatar Airways business class to Doha?
Our negotiated starting fares are $2,390 round trip from New York for lead-time bookings in the winter season, with summer often lower; Washington and Chicago are close, Dallas and Houston slightly higher, and the West Coast around $3,900. Note that a through-fare to the Maldives or Bali via Doha is sometimes barely more than Doha alone.
Does Qatar Airways fly First Class to the US?
No. First Class is on the A380 only, which does not serve the US. Qsuite business is the top cabin on every American route.
How long is the flight from New York to Doha?
About 12½ hours eastbound and 14 hours on the return. Chicago, Dallas and Houston are around 14 hours; Los Angeles and San Francisco about 16.
Can I stop over in Doha on the way to the Maldives?
Yes. Qatar's stopover program offers hotel packages from one to four nights, and a stopover usually adds little or nothing to the fare. Malé is four hours from Doha; we book the whole itinerary in Qsuite.

“Steven was enthusiastic (to a fault). His first of three offers was about 10% above my budget but the flights really fit the schedule so well I had to say yes. The other two offers were cheaper but the timing was off for me.”
