Bali is the farthest of the big beach destinations from the US — twenty-plus hours with one stop — and the one where a flat bed on both legs matters most. Singapore Airlines via Changi, EVA or Starlux via Taipei, Cathay via Hong Kong, Qsuite via Doha, Emirates First via Dubai: all land at Ngurah Rai, and Ubud, Seminyak, Uluwatu and the Nusa islands are an hour or two from the terminal.

12 hours ahead of Eastern (13 in winter)

Flying Business & First Class to Bali
From the West Coast, the fastest routings run through Northeast and Southeast Asia: EVA Air and Starlux via Taipei (Bali is five and a half hours on), Singapore Airlines nonstop to Changi then two and a half hours on, Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong, Korean Air via Seoul, and ANA or Japan Airlines to Tokyo connecting to Garuda Indonesia. Cathay and the Japanese carriers put First Class on the Pacific leg. From the East Coast, the Gulf routings are competitive on time and better on cabin: Qatar Airways in Qsuite via Doha, Emirates in First or Business via Dubai, Etihad via Abu Dhabi, Turkish Airlines via Istanbul. United and Delta connect at Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore or Sydney to partners. We put every routing on one ticket so the connection is the airline's responsibility, not yours.
Ngurah Rai is on the isthmus between Kuta and Jimbaran, which means Seminyak and Canggu are 30–45 minutes north, Uluwatu and the Bukit 45 minutes south, Ubud 90 minutes inland, and Sanur — for boats to Nusa Penida and Lembongan — 30 minutes east. Traffic is the variable; a morning arrival is easier than an evening one. Hotels arrange transfers. US passport holders get a visa on arrival, and Bali levies a tourist tax payable online before travel; we remind you at booking.
The dry season, May through September, is the reason to go — clear skies, lower humidity, the best surf on the west coast — and July–August, when Australia and Europe are on holiday, is the peak for both hotels and premium fares. Christmas–New Year is the second peak. The wet season, November through March, is hot, humid and green, with afternoon downpours and the lowest prices of the year; April and October are good-value shoulders. Nyepi, the Balinese day of silence in March, closes the airport entirely for 24 hours — we check the date against your itinerary.

“Steven was enthusiastic (to a fault). His first of three offers was about 10% above my budget but the flights really fit the schedule so well I had to say yes. The other two offers were cheaper but the timing was off for me.”
