Business Class Flights to Barcelona

from$2,200round trip · per person

Barcelona is one of the shorter premium crossings to the Mediterranean — seven and a half hours overnight from New York — and one of the best-value ones, with three US carriers competing on lie-flat seats and Miami adding strong Spanish-market fares. Land by 8am, and Gaudí, the Gothic Quarter and a long seaside lunch are all yours on day one.

Flying Business Class to Barcelona

United flies Barcelona nonstop from Newark year-round and from Washington and Chicago in season; American from New York, Miami, Philadelphia, Dallas and Chicago, again with several seasonal routes; Delta from New York and Atlanta. Most of these are lie-flat business cabins — Polaris, Flagship Business and Delta One — on 767s, 787s and A330s. Unlike Madrid, Barcelona has no Spanish flag-carrier nonstop to the US with a business cabin, so the one-stop via Madrid on Iberia is worth pricing, particularly in winter when several US nonstops pause: Iberia's A350 business seat is excellent, and the Madrid connection is under an hour. There is no First Class cabin on any nonstop US–Barcelona flight.

El Prat's Terminal 1 handles all long-haul arrivals and is 25–35 minutes from the center by taxi or Aerobús. Barcelona is also a cruise port and a rail hub: high-speed trains reach Madrid in two and a half hours and Girona in 40 minutes, and the Costa Brava is an hour's drive. An open-jaw — into Barcelona, home from Madrid or Lisbon — prices close to a round trip and saves the backtrack.

The city's price calendar is unusual. Mobile World Congress in late February or early March fills every hotel and premium seat with business travelers; the same week outside MWC would be one of the cheapest of the year. May–June and September–October are the sweet spot for beach weather without the August crush, and business fares then sit closest to our $2,200 starting price from New York.

Barcelona flight questions

How much is business class to Barcelona from the US?

Our negotiated starting fares are $2,200 round trip from New York for lead-time bookings; Miami, Atlanta and Chicago start slightly higher. Mobile World Congress week, July–August and Christmas price higher.

Which US cities have nonstop flights to Barcelona?

New York (JFK and Newark), Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas and Washington, with several routes running April–October only. Year-round service is strongest from New York and Miami.

How long is the flight to Barcelona from New York?

About 7½ hours eastbound overnight and 8½ hours on the daytime return — one of the shorter Mediterranean crossings.

Is it better to fly into Barcelona or Madrid?

For Catalonia and the coast, Barcelona. For a trip covering both cities or Andalusia, consider flying into one and home from the other — the high-speed train between them takes two and a half hours, and an open-jaw fare usually costs the same as a round trip.

“Steven was enthusiastic (to a fault). His first of three offers was about 10% above my budget but the flights really fit the schedule so well I had to say yes. The other two offers were cheaper but the timing was off for me.”

“It was great! So helpful and patient the only negative thing I can say is it wasn’t communicated the price for assistance until I already paid and left a tip.”
