Flying Business Class to Madrid
Iberia flies more US–Madrid nonstops than anyone, with A350s and A330s in a 1-2-1 lie-flat business cabin from New York, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Washington, Los Angeles and San Francisco. American adds Flagship Business from New York, Miami, Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia and Charlotte, United flies Polaris from Newark and Washington, Delta from New York and Atlanta, and Air Europa operates 787s with lie-flat seats from New York and Miami. Because Iberia and American are joint-venture partners, the two often price against Delta and United rather than against each other — which is exactly the kind of competition a negotiated fare exploits. No US–Madrid nonstop carries a First Class cabin.
Terminal 4 is one of Europe's best-run: Iberia's Velázquez lounge in 4S, fast connections, and Metro Line 8 or the Cercanías train into the city in about 30 minutes. It is also the reason to fly Madrid even when Madrid is not the destination. Seville, Málaga, Valencia, Bilbao and Lisbon are 50–75 minutes on Iberia's short-haul network, high-speed AVE trains reach Seville in two and a half hours and Barcelona in two and a half, and Iberia's Latin American network makes Madrid a smart connecting point for Buenos Aires, Lima and Bogotá in the same cabin.
Madrid is a year-round city. Spring (April–June) and autumn (September–October) are ideal; July and August regularly hit 100°F, and many madrileños leave the city. Winter is crisp, sunny and the cheapest time to fly, with business fares closest to our $2,200 New York starting price. Book Easter week and Christmas early.

Madrid flight questions
How much is a business-class flight to Madrid?
Our negotiated starting fares are $2,200 round trip from New York for lead-time bookings; Miami, Chicago and Dallas start a little higher and the West Coast around $2,900. Easter, Christmas and July–August price higher.
Which airline has the best business class to Madrid?
Iberia's A350 business cabin is widely rated the best on the route — a 1-2-1 layout with direct aisle access and one of the better catering programs across the Atlantic. American and Delta's newer aircraft are close; Air Europa's 787 is a good-value alternative.
How long is the flight from New York to Madrid?
About 7½ hours eastbound overnight and 8½ hours on the return. From Miami and Chicago expect about 9 hours; from Los Angeles, 11½.
Can I connect through Madrid to Seville, Lisbon or Latin America on the same ticket?
Yes. Iberia's Terminal 4 hub connects to every major Spanish city, Lisbon and Porto in about an hour, and to Buenos Aires, Lima, Bogotá, Santiago and Mexico City in a lie-flat cabin. We price the through-fare so you keep the same seat quality end to end.

“Steven was enthusiastic (to a fault). His first of three offers was about 10% above my budget but the flights really fit the schedule so well I had to say yes. The other two offers were cheaper but the timing was off for me.”

“It was great! So helpful and patient the only negative thing I can say is it wasn’t communicated the price for assistance until I already paid and left a tip.”
