Air France Business & First Class (La Première)
from$2,500round trip · per person
Air France flies Paris nonstop from fourteen US cities with a business seat that now has a sliding door, and it operates La Première — four seats per aircraft, a private lounge with a Michelin-starred menu, a car to the aircraft door — which Skytrax has repeatedly named the best First Class lounge in the world. For Paris, Nice, Africa and much of the world via Charles de Gaulle, it is the premium ticket to ask about.

The seat
What makes Business Class different
The current Air France business seat is a 1-2-1 lie-flat with a sliding door, a 17-inch screen and a design that borrows from the airline's First; it is ranked fifth in the world by Skytrax. La Première is in another category. Only four seats per aircraft, so the crew-to-passenger ratio is close to one to one; a dedicated lounge at 2E with a restaurant by a multi-Michelin-starred chef, a spa, and a private car directly to the aircraft; on board, a suite with thick curtains that close, a full bed made up with a mattress, and a menu with caviar and a wine list that would not embarrass a Paris restaurant. The new La Première suite, with a separate armchair and bed and a floor-to-ceiling door, is the most spacious First Class in Europe. The food throughout — French, seasonal, with real cheese courses and Champagne in every cabin — is why people choose Air France over the US carriers on the same route.

Air France lounges
At Charles de Gaulle, La Première passengers use a dedicated lounge in 2E with a restaurant, spa treatments by a French house, and a car to the aircraft; Business passengers use the Air France lounges in 2E (halls K, L and M) and 2F, the largest of which has a Clarins spa, showers and a wine bar. In the US, Air France operates its own lounge at New York JFK Terminal 1 and uses Delta Sky Clubs or partner lounges at other gateways.
Upgrades: can you move up?
Air France sells upgrade offers and bids before departure, and Flying Blue members can upgrade eligible fares with miles — but La Première upgrades are restricted to higher fare classes and the four seats sell out early. If La Première is the goal, book it: a negotiated La Première fare from New York or Los Angeles is one of the rare First Class products where the contract price makes a real difference. We quote it alongside Business.
Important to know before you book
- La Première flies only on 777-300ERs equipped with it, from New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington; other routes are Business-topped.
- Not every Business seat has a door; A350s and 787s delivered before 2023 have the earlier seat. Both are lie-flat with aisle access.
- Air France and Delta operate as a joint venture; fares are coordinated, and Delta One Suites on the same route are a fair comparison.
- Fashion Weeks, Roland-Garros and Christmas push Paris fares up; mid-January–February is cheapest.
Rankings and reviews
Air France was ranked the world's fifth-best business class at the 2025 Skytrax awards, and its La Première lounge has been named the World's Best First Class Lounge by Skytrax in recent years. Reviewers consistently rate La Première among the top three First Class products in the world, particularly for catering.
Why book Air France with LuxeSkies
Air France's public business fares to Paris are among the highest of any European carrier, which is precisely why negotiated fares matter here. We hold contract fares from $2,500 round trip, confirm whether your Business seat has a door, price Paris against Delta's joint-venture flights and the one-stops to Nice and Africa, and quote La Première on the four routes that carry it. One manager, a reply in 30 minutes.
Air France questions
How much is Air France business class from the US?
Our negotiated starting fares are $2,500 round trip from New York for lead-time bookings; Boston, Washington, Atlanta and Chicago are close, and the West Coast a few hundred dollars higher. La Première is quoted on request.
Which US cities have Air France La Première?
New York JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington on 777-300ERs fitted with the cabin. Four seats per flight; book early.
Does Air France business class have doors?
On retrofitted 777-300ERs, A350s delivered from 2023 and the newest 787s, yes. Earlier aircraft have a lie-flat 1-2-1 seat without a door. We confirm the aircraft before you book.
Can I connect from Paris to Nice or Africa on the same Air France ticket?
Yes. Nice is 90 minutes from Paris, and Air France flies to 30+ African cities from Charles de Gaulle. A through-fare keeps you in the same cabin and usually prices close to Paris alone.

“Steven was enthusiastic (to a fault). His first of three offers was about 10% above my budget but the flights really fit the schedule so well I had to say yes. The other two offers were cheaper but the timing was off for me.”
