from$2,500round trip · per person
Finnair's AirLounge is the most unusual business seat flying to the US — a fixed-shell lounge with no recline mechanism, where you sit, sprawl or lie flat however you like — and Helsinki is the door to Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Tallinn, Reykjavik and Lapland. Nonstop from New York, Dallas, Los Angeles and Seattle, with Marimekko textiles and Nordic catering throughout.

The seat
What makes Business Class different
The AirLounge divides opinion, and that is the point of knowing about it before you book. There is no seat that reclines; instead, a curved shell like a small sofa lets you sit upright, lounge sideways, curl up, or lie fully flat with the bed extension and mattress. People who like to move around love it; people who want a conventional seat-to-bed recline sometimes do not. Everything around it is calm Nordic design — Marimekko textiles and amenity kits, Iittala glassware, a menu of Finnish and Nordic dishes, and a blueberry juice that has become a thing. Helsinki-Vantaa is compact, fast and the natural connecting point for Scandinavia, the Baltics and Lapland's northern lights.

Important to know before you book
- The AirLounge does not recline. Read about it before booking; we will describe it honestly.
- Some US routes are seasonal; Helsinki connections to Asia are longer than pre-2022 because of airspace restrictions.
- Lapland's northern-lights season is late September–March; Helsinki summer is June–August.
- Finnair is a oneworld member and American's partner; the New York and Dallas flights are joint-venture priced with American and British Airways.
Rankings and reviews
Finnair has been named Best Airline in Northern Europe by Skytrax many times, holds a 4-Star rating, and its AirLounge cabin won design awards at launch; reviewers rate the Helsinki lounge and the Nordic catering highly.
Why book Finnair with LuxeSkies
Finnair's one-stop fares to Scandinavia, the Baltics and Central Europe are frequently the lowest lie-flat option from the US, and its AirLounge is the seat clients most often want explained before they commit. We hold contract fares from $2,500 round trip, describe the seat honestly, and price Helsinki against Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Frankfurt connections for the same destination.

“Steven was enthusiastic (to a fault). His first of three offers was about 10% above my budget but the flights really fit the schedule so well I had to say yes. The other two offers were cheaper but the timing was off for me.”
