Business Class Flights to Bogota
from$1,600round trip · per person
Bogotá is three and a half hours from Miami and on Eastern time — a South American capital you can reach for lunch — with a museum quarter, a food scene that now rivals Lima's, and El Dorado's hub connecting to Cartagena, Medellín, the coffee region and the Amazon in under an hour. Avianca, American, Delta and United fly a front cabin from nine US cities, and our $1,600 starting fare is among the lowest on the continent.

Flying Business Class to Bogota
Avianca, Colombia's flag carrier, flies Bogotá nonstop from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, New York JFK, Newark, Washington, Boston, Houston, Chicago and Los Angeles, mostly on A320-family aircraft with a recliner business cabin, and on 787s with a lie-flat 1-2-1 business cabin on some Miami, New York and Los Angeles frequencies. American flies from Miami and Dallas, Delta from Atlanta and New York, United from Houston and Newark — all narrowbody recliner First Class on most frequencies, with American occasionally placing a widebody on Miami–Bogotá. JetBlue and Spirit fly without a premium cabin. Copa connects via Panama City with recliner business. The honest summary: on a three-to-five-hour daytime flight, expect a wide recliner, a meal and lounge access rather than a bed, unless you are on an Avianca 787. No US–Bogotá flight has a First Class cabin.
El Dorado is one of South America's best airports and Avianca's hub, with lounges airside and the domestic terminal connecting to Cartagena and Medellín (an hour each), Pereira and Armenia for the coffee region (45 minutes), Santa Marta (90 minutes) and Leticia in the Amazon (two hours) — all on the same ticket where the fare allows. The drive to the Zona Rosa and Chapinero takes 30 to 60 minutes; Bogotá's altitude, 8,660 feet, is worth a slow first afternoon.
Bogotá's weather barely changes through the year — 55 to 68°F, at altitude — so the calendar is about rain: December to March and July to August are drier, April–May and October–November wetter. Christmas–New Year, Easter and the Colombian holiday weekends (there are many) bring domestic travel and fuller flights; February is quiet. Our $1,600 starting fare from Miami is a shoulder-season starting point, and Bogotá is often the cheapest gateway for a Colombia loop — arrive here, fly home from Cartagena on an open-jaw.

American Airlines — First Class from Miami and Dallas
Delta — First Class from Atlanta and New York
United — First Class from Houston and Newark
Copa — via Panama City, recliner business
Bogota flight questions
How much is business class to Bogotá from the US?
Our negotiated starting fares are $1,600 round trip from Miami for lead-time bookings; Fort Lauderdale and Atlanta are close, Houston and Dallas similar, New York around $1,800 and Los Angeles higher. Christmas–New Year and Easter price higher.
Is business class to Bogotá lie-flat?
Usually not — most nonstops are narrowbodies with recliner business or First Class on a three-to-five-hour daytime flight. Avianca's 787s on some Miami, New York and Los Angeles frequencies are lie-flat; we confirm the aircraft.
How long is the flight from Miami to Bogotá?
About 3½ hours each way. New York is around 5½ hours; Atlanta 4½; Houston and Dallas about 5; Los Angeles 8.
Can I connect to Cartagena, Medellín or the coffee region on the same ticket?
Yes. Avianca connects Bogotá to Cartagena and Medellín in about an hour and to Pereira and Armenia in 45 minutes; we book the domestic sector on the same ticket where the fare allows. An open-jaw into Bogotá and home from Cartagena is the classic Colombia itinerary.

“Steven was enthusiastic (to a fault). His first of three offers was about 10% above my budget but the flights really fit the schedule so well I had to say yes. The other two offers were cheaper but the timing was off for me.”
