Flying Business Class to Lima
LATAM is the dominant carrier, with Lima as its hub: nonstop from Miami, New York JFK, Los Angeles and Orlando, with lie-flat business on its 787s and a 2-2-2 layout on some A330s and older aircraft. American flies from Miami and Dallas with Flagship Business on widebodies on most frequencies; Delta, LATAM's partner, from Atlanta with Delta One; United from Houston and Newark with Polaris. Most of these are widebodies with flat beds, but some Miami frequencies operate with narrowbodies and recliner cabins on the five-hour hop — we confirm the aircraft. Avianca and Copa connect via Bogotá and Panama City with recliner business. No US–Lima flight has a First Class cabin.
Jorge Chávez's new terminal, which opened in 2025, replaced one of South America's most congested airports with one of its most modern, and the LATAM and partner lounges are airside. The city — Miraflores, Barranco, San Isidro — is 30 to 60 minutes away. The connection most clients make is to Cusco: LATAM and Sky fly it in an hour and twenty minutes, many times a day, and we book it on the same ticket where the fare allows, with the morning arrival from the US connecting to a midday Cusco flight. Arequipa, Puerto Maldonado (for the Amazon) and Iquitos are also an hour or two.
The seasons run in two directions. For Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, May through September is the dry season — clear skies, cold nights — with June through August the peak and Inti Raymi on June 24 the single busiest week; the rains run November to March and the Inca Trail closes in February. Lima itself is the reverse: sunny and warm from December to April, grey and cool from May to November. Christmas–New Year and Easter bring family travel. Our $1,900 starting fare from Miami is the lowest long-haul lie-flat fare to South America on our site.

“Steven was enthusiastic (to a fault). His first of three offers was about 10% above my budget but the flights really fit the schedule so well I had to say yes. The other two offers were cheaper but the timing was off for me.”
