Flying Business & First Class to Seoul
Korean Air flies Incheon nonstop from New York JFK, Boston, Washington, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Honolulu, and has absorbed Asiana's US routes since the 2024 merger. Its Prestige Suites are a lie-flat 1-2-1 with high privacy partitions, the newest 787-10s and A350s add sliding doors, and First Class still flies on the 747-8 and 777-300ER on selected routes. Delta, Korean's joint-venture partner, flies Delta One to Incheon from Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, Seattle, Los Angeles and Honolulu. United flies Polaris from San Francisco and American from Dallas. Because Korean and Delta coordinate fares, the useful comparison is against United, American and the one-stops on ANA, Japan Airlines and Cathay Pacific.
Incheon Terminal 2 is Korean Air's own, with Prestige lounges, a First Class lounge and a spa, and it is the reason to route through Seoul even when Seoul is not the goal: Tokyo and Osaka are two hours, Shanghai and Beijing two, Taipei two and a half, Hong Kong three and a half, Bangkok, Singapore, Manila, Ho Chi Minh City and Bali five to seven. Korean Air's one-stop through-fares to those cities are frequently lower than the nonstops. The AREX express reaches Seoul Station in 43 minutes; a taxi to Gangnam takes about an hour.
Seoul's spring — cherry blossoms in early to mid April, then May and June — and autumn (late September through October, with foliage into November) are the sweet spots. Lunar New Year (late January or February) and Chuseok (the harvest festival in September or October) are domestic holidays when premium cabins fill with Korean-American family travel; book those dates early. July–August is hot and humid with the monsoon. Winter is cold and clear, and the cheapest time to fly, with business fares from Los Angeles at or below our $3,200 starting price.

“Steven was enthusiastic (to a fault). His first of three offers was about 10% above my budget but the flights really fit the schedule so well I had to say yes. The other two offers were cheaper but the timing was off for me.”
