What makes Business Class different
The 787-9 business seat is an Apex Suite — a staggered 1-2-1 where window seats sit against the window behind a high wall and every seat has aisle access — with a 17-inch screen and a bed that is longer than most. First Class is eight closed mini-suites with sliding doors, a 23-inch screen and a bed made up by the crew, and a chauffeur service in Muscat. The cabin is small enough that service is personal, the Omani and international catering is a cut above, and Muscat's airport, rebuilt in 2018, is uncrowded and quick. For the Maldives and Zanzibar, it is a calmer alternative to the big Gulf hubs.

At Muscat, the Oman Air First and Business Class Lounge, with a restaurant, a spa, showers and quiet rooms; it is rarely crowded. In Europe, Oman Air uses partner or contract lounges at Heathrow, Frankfurt, Paris and Zurich, and oneworld lounges since joining the alliance.
Upgrades: can you move up?
Oman Air sells cash upgrades before departure and Sindbad members can upgrade eligible fares with miles; First Class is on the 787-9 only, so the upgrade exists on those routes. We quote First alongside Business on the Muscat sector.
Important to know before you book
- No US nonstop; the ticket combines a transatlantic partner with Oman Air from Europe or a Gulf connection.
- The A330s carry an older version of the seat; the 787-9 is the aircraft to ask for.
- Oman's season is October–April; summer is very hot except in Salalah, which has a monsoon-green season in July–September.
- Alcohol is served on board.
